visits with 20 sales (from friends and family) to 850 at the end of 2020. Now at the end of 2021, I have almost 1900 sales! Etsy is reporting amazing financial results, with more traffic than ever. This also means there is more competition!

You might be wondering, "How will my shop stand out and get sales on Etsy?" Surely I'll have to be a Marketing genius, or spend money on tools, fancy photography equipment, and go viral on Tik Tok to get sales??

What if I told you that you DON'T have to do any of that! That you can be successful with:

First off, let me show you behind the curtain!

On the left is my shop in 2019. I was frustrated, confused and about to give up. The photo on the right is my shop at the end recently. What changed? How did I do it? Did I promote on IG/FB/Twitter/Pinterest? Pay for $20/day in Etsy ads?

Promote in a ton of FB groups? Do a bunch of craft shows?

NOPE.

You’re shaking your head right now, aren’t you? This cant’ be true! It is true. If I can do it, so can you!

I’m going to spill my secrets to exactly how I got this success. There are some basics I followed that helped me succeed, when so many others on Etsy failed. In fact, I read a statistic that only 65% of Etsy sellers make more than $100 ever from their shops!

But before I get too far ahead,

let me introduce myself.

Hello friends, I’m Jessica Trueblood (The original underachiever). I’m a wife, mom, full-time employee, crafter and maker, and now business owner. I’ve worked in Training and Development most of my career, and have always wanted to have an Etsy shop.

I opened my shop in 2018, threw a bunch of downloads into the shop, took some horrible dark pictures, wrote 3-4 word titles, skipped tags, skipped shop policies and opened for business. Well, it’s a long story, but my shop was crickets. Besides friends and family, I made 1 sale that entire year. I could not understand why my shop was failing at the time!

A Dark Time

In 2019 my beloved mother was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer, and passed just 12 weeks later. I left my shop open, but removed the app from my phone and pushed it from my mind.

I was devastated, and a little lost personally as well as professionally. Seeing a reminder of how precious life really was, I gravitated toward arts and crafts as a way of coping with my grief. Around the holidays, I started making painted wooden Christmas ornaments, and sold them at local craft shows.

I made $2000 that season

Just like that, the passion was ignited. I like creating, but I also like the personal nature of selling - when someone came to my booth, they saw my hand-painted ornaments and local wood. And my young son was playing with cars on the floor. Hard to say no to that! I posted a few ornaments in my Etsy shop and sold a few in December.

Crafting ornaments got me through a tough holiday season, and then a few days after Christmas my husband asked jokingly "what are you going to do now?" My craft euphoria crashed. I didn't know what to do!

I logged into Facebook and started re-engaging with my old Etsy groups. I did all the cringy, bad things. I begged for sales, I blasted my link in every group, I complained. In a large group that I won't mention, I grew tired of large shops bragging about sales, and posting their revenues - without giving any actual tips other than "keep working on it".

I rebranded my shop with wooden magnets, coasters, and other unique things. But still, I heard

CRICKETS.

It wasn’t until I started my own Facebook Etsy group and started to learn about the Etsy platform did things start to sink in for me. I was doing it all wrong!

So how did I turn my shop around, in my spare time without paid ads and begging for sales?

Get really clear on what you want to sell and who your customer is
Have a cohesive brand. All the keywords in the world won’t help you get sales if your shop is a mish mash of 15 backgrounds, colors and products!
Add as many listings as you can. If you can only start with 20, that’s fine. Set a goal and work your way up to as many as you can manage. (I currently have about 150, but it took time to get there)
Fill in all the parts of your shop! The About section, shop policies, a shop banner and a logo
Amazing photos. If you get buyers to your listings, they have to want to click on them. Good photos don’t have to cost a lot either!

No - this membership is worldwide. In fact, we currently have members from Canada, the UK, India
2. What is the cancellation policy?

We don't require a commitment of a certain number of months. You can cancel at any time - once you cancel, you will have access until the end of your pay cycle. You access your account in the portal to cancel.
3. Can I try it for just a month?

Absolutely! You can join for a month - just make sure you go into your portal account and cancel before the last day of your pay cycle. I have a feeling that once you are in, you won't want to leave, though!
4. Is this only for people who already have an Etsy shop?
